Place-making

Place-making Palestine

The Anabta, GIZ led place-making program was a co-creative attempt in the making of public space. The main stakeholder for these project where the neighborhood children, their parents and other marginalized groups. To ensure an interactive and inclusive process, our project centered on hands on activity of imagining space. Each group of children was given a physical model of the site, which they had to reimagine as a functioning park. The groups were told to give their park a name and present it to the rest of the groups after they have finalized their concepts. As facilitators we went around to probe the kids into different aspects of the park, by asking questions and pushing their designs forward. Many of the ideas the children came up with ended up in the final designs.
